AnyPath Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 26, 2026

1. Our Privacy Philosophy

Nurse Alarm LLC ("Company," "we," or "us") respects your privacy. AnyPath (the "App") is designed with a privacy-first architecture: the App does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. It has no user accounts, no advertising, and no tracking. The App never sends your files, your file paths, your links, or your clipboard contents anywhere. Everything the App does to work out a path happens locally on your device, and every action is initiated by you - by pressing a keyboard shortcut. There is no background monitoring of your keyboard, your clipboard, or your screen content.

The directly-distributed macOS App makes two routine connections to our own infrastructure: an update check, and - only if you have bought a license - a license check. Neither observes you, your files, or your activity.

The App is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children. By using it, you represent that you are at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction).

2. What the App Accesses (and Why)

When - and only when - you press an AnyPath shortcut, the App reads information about the window currently in focus to determine the file path, folder path, or web address of the item you are viewing, and places that text on your clipboard. Depending on the application in focus, this may involve reading a window title, an accessibility value, or an application's own automation interface. This information is used transiently, in memory, on your device, solely to produce the text you asked to copy. It is never stored by the App and never transmitted anywhere.

Clipboard: The App writes your copied path or link to the system clipboard. It does not read, monitor, or log your existing clipboard contents.

Cloud links: When you copy a cloud link (for example OneDrive, SharePoint, or Google Drive), the App computes the link locally from the sync configuration your own cloud client has already stored on your device. The App does not contact the cloud provider and does not access your cloud account.

Settings: Your preferences, such as your chosen shortcuts, are stored only on your device.

Permissions: On macOS, the App requests the Accessibility and Automation permissions, which are used solely for the purpose described above; you can revoke them at any time in System Settings.

3. No Data Collection by Default

The App contains no analytics and no advertising, and it sends no telemetry by default. We do not track your activity, files, identity, or location, and we do not build any profile of you. Nothing you copy is ever sent to us or to anyone else.

4. Optional Feedback and Diagnostics

Send Feedback: If you use the App's Send Feedback option, it opens a pre-addressed email in your own email program. The draft may include your App version, your operating-system version, and a technical diagnostic summary, all of which you can review, edit, or delete before sending. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send the email.

Optional failure diagnostics (off by default): If you turn on the Diagnostics setting, the App sends us a technical report when a copy or drag operation fails, so we can find and fix compatibility problems. A report is limited to non-identifying technical details - the application in focus, the type of error, the feature that failed, and App and operating-system versions. Reports never include your files, file contents, file names, file paths, or personal identifiers such as your name, username, or device name. They may be processed by a reputable error-reporting service acting on our behalf, and are used solely to diagnose and fix defects. You can turn the setting off at any time.

Platform diagnostics: Independent of the App, your operating system may collect crash and reliability data according to your own OS privacy settings. When platforms share such data with developers, we receive only aggregate, de-identified reports.

5. Purchases and License Checks

Windows: The App is distributed through the Microsoft Store. Purchases, subscriptions, trials, and refunds are handled by Microsoft under Microsoft's terms and privacy policy - we never see your payment details.

macOS: The macOS App is sold directly, not through the Apple App Store. Payment is processed by a third-party payment provider acting as merchant of record under its own terms and privacy policy; we never see or handle your card details. The provider gives us your email address and order details so that we can deliver and support your license.

License checks: After you activate a license, the App checks that it is still valid - once when it launches, and about once a week while it is running. That check sends your license key and a random identifier the App generated for this installation. The identifier is deliberately not your computer name, your username, or any hardware identifier: it is a random value that means nothing outside your license. A license may be activated on up to three Macs, and the identifier exists solely so that limit can be applied. The check returns only whether the license is active.

6. Software Updates

On Windows, updates are delivered by the Microsoft Store. The directly-distributed macOS App periodically checks our update server for a newer version; the check sends no personal data.

7. Data Storage and Security

The App stores nothing about you off your device, so there is no App-held database of your files, paths, or copying activity to breach. If you have bought a license, your email address and order record are held by our payment provider under its own security practices. Your settings live on your own device, and you are responsible for maintaining the security of your device. We are not responsible for loss or exposure of data due to events beyond our reasonable control.

8. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions.

9. Changes and Contact

We may update this policy from time to time; the current version is always posted at https://anypath.nursealarm.app/privacy with its "Last Updated" date. You can revoke the App's permissions or turn off any optional feature at any time. To ask about, or request deletion of, anything we hold for you, contact us at anypath@nursealarm.app.
